How often do you color your hair (to cover grey)?

Anonymous
I color the roots every 5 weeks, but I should do it every 4 weeks. I know someone who goes every 3 weeks.

At 56 I go every three weeks, I can tell a home job, always too dark for the skin tone.

I gave up. Let my hair go be all white if it wants. There is still a tiny bit of brown in back, but it looks black.

wow--I am jealous, I have to color every 2 weeks because I get a white strip along my part (have darker hair).

i do it every 4 week, but probably should do it a bit more often. have dark hair....

gave up on doing it myself.

My hair grows super fast (and gray) whenever I do the roots myself, the stylist always says ..missed a few spots...

I don't.

I let the gray grow in.

You can't fight aging. I'd rather be fit, which is how I spend my extra time, and have nice skin.

Certainly your call here, but it seems to me you ARE fighting aging by exercising and dieting and doing skin treatments/care in an effort not to have your body and face look the age you actually are. Why is coloring your hair any different?

I sure hope your DH is keeping up with his colorings. Or is he 15 years younger than you? Dude sounds like a total prick.

+1 Put the ass in his place.

I color it myself these days. Lorell the one that covers gray is EXCELLENT! I only to the roots and its super easy to apply. I do it myself! It's about 7 bucks a box and it comes with an awesome conditioner. hair is super silky when done. I've been doing my hair for the last few years and Honestly there is no differance! They have come a LONG way girls with the box over the counter hair dye. I use 10 ...lightest ultimate blond! Perfect soft and natural. I'm usually lazy and like every 10 weeks! . Try it , you won't be sorry!

Every time I dye at home I make an insane mess -- black dye is hard to deal with -- but I just can't pay $90 every 4 weeks in a salon.

I have almost black hair and white skin, so it is very noticable. I go every 5 weeks. Since I dye my hair my natural color, it is very simple. I just go to a Bubbles by my house and she charges $50. You really can't mess my color up. I go to a more experienced stylist for my cuts.

I have had time this winter to train for a Marathon next weekend AND dye my hair.

My nice skin is a result of my good healthy useage of sunblock in my teens and 20s. Nothing better to fight age than that.

I have it all.

Ok, I use grabbed the box I use. I just posted above. it is L'oreal Excellence Cream (pro keratine) triple protection color cream. Superior gray coverage. non Drip Cream. Level 3 Permanent . Like I said I use. # 10 Lighest Ultimate Blonde. Truely you put the gloves on ( enclosed) pour the tube into the bottle and then separate your hair and run the open tip bottle along the roots until the whole head is done. I then wait 45 minutes, wash out , apply conditioner ( enclosed). hair is soft, NOT dry ...color is natural and honestly you can't mess up! It's super easy and super cheap. Wallmart sells it and local grocery stores. my hair always looks great and it's super easy!
