Thank you for this! Just went on Amazon and bought two Andre Assous sandals, they are so cute and look comfortable. |
Yes, I want to look cute but I also value a pain-free existence. If I had to wear those bloomingdale shoes you posted all day, I would be miserable! (NP) |
I was coming here to recommend Andre Assous! |
While surfing some of the options given, found these. Pricy, but could be good. I def have the problem of looking good with a summer dress and being able to walk long distances in the city.

I would also say that I think the Andres Assous shoes look a lot more like what an 80 year old would wear. That said I know some very fashionable 80 year olds! (My mom among them.) |
those are nice and look like you could walk in them i think birks are more "stylish" but these look good |
those are pretty |
I like Dolce Vita with a low heel - huge fan of the Dolce Vita Payce Wedge Sandal, but I don't see them on their web site anymore. https://www.nordstrom.com/s/dolce-vita-payce-slide-sandal-women/4256544
Maybe the Ilva, which also comes with a higher heel: https://www.dolcevita.com/products/ilva-sandals-creme-embossed-leather |
I have multiple pairs of sandals from this store which is local to me:
https://www.dnafootwear.com/collections/sandals I LOVE the Rockaway styles and the Bergen and Astoria are also great. I have the Rockaway in 4 different colors, they are comfortable enough to walk all day and they go with everything. I've worn them all over Europe and in NYC throughout the summer. |
I normally wear boat shoes in this situation, but my second choice for all day sundress sandals are both pairs of Dolce Vita. My first choice sandals are leather huaraches from a Mexican market that are perfectly broken in, I can walk miles in them. I’ve never needed much support for my feet though. Does it have to be sandals? A sparkling white new pair of keds look smashing with most sundresses |
Lol! I was jeered at for suggesting Keds in a thread recently. |
There are occasionally non hideous yet supportive and comfortable shoes at The Walking Co and also Comfort One Shoes. Hit or miss. |
Yup they’re on the way out! Soon it will only my the 80yos wearing. |
I don’t believe it. How are converse sneakers cool and Jess are on the way out? They are practically the same shoe. |
