In at UVA, UCSD, UCSB - offered significant merit at two 'Likely' schools.

My ds is considering all of these. Any merit at them? What were grades and score?

No merit at any of these - 4.2 W / 1320 but applied TO (UC schools won't accept or consider test scores)

Had some very interesting ECs with a lot of leadership roles

This is why TO should go away. Someone who has a UW3.6 but took high rigor classes and gets a 1560 on SAT belongs in a elite college, someone who has a UW4.0 but took easier classes , or has grade inflation, and gets a 1290 does not.

That's why schools look closely at rigor.

1380, going to Delaware with merit

There are plenty of options out there.

Could you let us know the demographics for you child? That makes a lot of difference.

I’m the PP you’re asking. White. Not an athlete and no hooks. 3.8 UW GPA and 6 APs

2 of the state schools were reaches, but he got in. One with merit.

I follow this board and was panicking, but he picked great schools for him (South Carolina, Penn State, Delaware, Tenn, etc.)

He also applied and got into Penn State and GMU.

Did he submit the 1290 at JMU?

My kid got a 1380 and is at CU Boulder with $15k merit. She also went TO, so I guess the score didn’t really matter LOL

St. Joe's. We all love it and he got lots of merit.

But she applied to I think 10 schools and was accepted to all including a lot of small private schools with merit aid, plus Miami of Ohio. So under 1400 isn’t the end of the world. Her brother struggles with paralyzing anxiety on standardized tests and I expect him to top out at 1200 though his goal is 1300. He is considering the non- flagship UNC campuses, Miami of Ohio, Towson, JMU and WVU so far. He is hoping to go TO where possible.

This was basically our DC. ~1300 one-and-done/zero-prep, 4.0UW/4.5W with dozens of DE credits. Enrolling at WVU with $$ merit and is super excited.

I'm going to assume that the GPA was a bit lower than the threshold.

My 1370 (submitted) was also waitlisted at JMU.
