what are fast food options that you'll eat on the road?

Best part of a road trip is a stop at Waffle House!

Chick-fil-A, it's the only time we eat there. Sometimes Chipotle or Five Guy's of they are available.

With kids—McD’s. With DH and dog—we find a BBQ or brew pub type place and sit down to eat. I like to give the pup a little time to stretch. NO JOGGING! If I am jogging someone is chasing me with a knife or worse.

If we have kids and dog, she prefers a quick pee and a chance to snarf the fries they drop.

Only the peasants do “driving trips” in your world?

No, DH and I just don't find those enjoyable so don't do them. If something is more than two hours away, we fly.

I enjoy their fish fillets…and maybe once every 5 years, a Big Mac.

Five guys is also very reliable but usually not near highways.

OP don’t know if you care but the owner of Jimmy Johns supports canned hunts of wild animals in Africa. He kills giraffes for fun. For this reason alone I will never support any JJ franchise.

Just as long as it’s once every 5 years. If you had one Big Mac every 1 or 2 years, you’d be a morally bankrupt Fattie McFatterson.

We try to avoid too many carbs in the car as activity is limited on those days. We do normally go for a family jog at lunch though before we eat. We park at a school/ neighborhood park and jog a couple miles then eat. It’s quite lovely. Our kids as young as 4 have done this.

Are you serious?

Occasionally a Waffle House if we're in the south.

Kids lean toward breakfast foods, dad some kind of meat, and mom an omelet

Stopped at a Cracker Barrel once, will never return: I don't meet the weight requirement. At least at the one we stopped at in the mid-west, you cannot enter unless you weigh 300 pounds 🤣

You are not as funny as you think.

It takes zero talent to make fun of other people.

I actually had no idea! Good to know - that will make me think twice.
And yes I know chick-fil-a is problematic too.

Never change, DCUM!

And this was before the mean-spirited post about the fatties at whichever restaurant she'd never deign to enter.

4-year-old: Mommy, can we eat now?

Mom: Not until you’ve done your two-mile jog, honey?

4-year-old: But mom, yesterday was leg day.

We drive to/from the northeast regularly. My go-to’s are Pret and Shake Shack. I don’t mind McDonald’s. Normally we are just having lunch on the road - 1 meal isn’t going to kill anyone.

My favorite for air travel is Starbucks protein boxes - cheese, crackers, hard boiled egg, peanut butter, nuts. I’ll have them for breakfast or dinner.
