In at top choice, but will move if top choice charter becomes option for Pre-K

I got in to my first choice DCPS, but overall it is my third choice (two charters are more favorable to me). If I get into either of those, I will not take DCPS slot. Anyone else in this boat? Which DCPS did you get into and which charter are you banking on? Me- Oyster. Prefer LAMB or Yu Ying.

We got into SWS - which was our #1 DCPS choice. The only other school I'd consider moving for is MV, and I'm not holding my breath.

Will give up Bancroft for MV

Might give up Barnard for EL Haynes or Cap City.

Will give up Barnard for Stokes, Haynes, LAMB, MV or Cap City but chances slim to none.

Will give up Shepherd, but will move if we get into Cap City, LAMB, or Sela.

In at Logan Montessori, and very happy about that.

But. Still interested in Haynes, Cap City, and Creative Minds. Maybe even CAPCS Amos 2, as it's right down the road.

In at SWW@FS but will go to Creative Minds or MV if we get in.

You can probably start planning to move now if you'd seriously move if you got into Sela. Founding year and Hebrew? I doubt they'll turn anyone away this year, but you could call them and ask how many apps they've received so far - that will give you some idea.

In at Maury, but will give up regardless is my guess. Want immersion, so Stokes specifically is my first choice. Also applied to the other immersion charters (save for YY). We have a good chance at Bancroft too.

I called them and they are "way over subscribed for pre-K," over subscribed for K, and may or may not have a lottery for 1st, apparently they are getting lots of new apps in from closing schools. I need pre-K.

Way oversubscribed doesn't mean anything for a first year charter. PK can go well into the 100s in a first year, temp location. Anyone can apply online and use it as a backup.

Good to know. They told me to apply and that there is always a chance. Besides the language piece, what I liked is that they are going to be in their current space for at least 5 years (or so they said, anyway).

Will give up Bancroft for Stokes French or Yu Ying.

Agree with this. & remember, lottery season is not over until Oct 5th (more than 6 months away). A lot will happen between now and then, not even counting the big September shuffle. Your odds are very good.
