Maybe I'm a little dense, but I thought it was a known fact that X chromo. sperm are slower, but have more stamina and Y chromo. sperm move faster, but "die" out quicker.

That is why if you conceive a day or two before the egg is truly ovulated (and in the prime position) you'll most likely have a girl (slowly, but surely X sperm). When the egg is in prime position (true ovulation) and you conceive you'll have a boy because the Y sperm are faster and can quickly fertilize the egg without dieing before reaching the destination.

In the lab, I thought X chromo. sperm were slightly heavier than Y chromo. sperm and therefore, doc./scientists are able to "filter" out and give you a better chance of having the preferred sex.

So...my point is - I don't really get the appeal of the website. The "crucial point" the website claims is probably the "prime" ovulation date that I alluded to in my message above (where the Y sperm are most likely to reach the egg before the X sperm).

I don't know... they make it seem like it is some amazing breakthrough, but it is just fundamental.

OP, I would be careful if I were you, it very much looks like a scam. I have heard the same thing as PP.

I chart my temps on the Fertility Friend website and there are a bunch of discussion boards there. One is on "intercourse timing & gender selection" and a lot of women on that board talk about the pH of the cervical fluid playing a big role in conception of a boy vs. girl. Apparently, there are "girl diets" to lower your pH and "boy diets" to increase it. There are also theories about timing of sex - e.g. have sex daily from end of period through ovuation for a girl vs. one shot deal on/around ovuation for a boy. I don't know if either of these things work. Anyway, before paying any money (I didn't look at your link, but assume $ was involved) I would look at the boards on Fertility Friend. There is also similar information on Ingender.com - both of these are free.

My mom tried this to conceive my brother (after two girls). She did both the timing thing, and also used some sort of douche (I think vinegar(?)) to change the acid level. She had a boy, which is what she was trying for... but obviously, you can't definitively say that her following the timing, etc. advice was what worked.

Many years ago, we naively tried to choose the gender. After a few months, we just wanted to get pregnant, period. We finally succeeded with IVF... now trying for #2. I'm just trying to time BD so that we get a baby!
