APE is smart enough to donate to the candidate they think is going to win. That's what PACs do. |
So to recap:
Kathleen is engaging with APE, and has made friends with them Chen might not be APE, but everything coming out of his mouth screams it Zuraya’s only job is to collect useless endorsements And where’s Larry? #APSSBCandidates2024 |
Voucher guy was definitely in APE |
And Kathleen is smart enough to take their cash and votes too. Even more because AEA did not endorse her. |
Wait. Is APE a PAC? |
Like he was making decisions about APE’s stances/ initiatives….or he joined the Facebook group, made a lot of noise on there & AEM and you’ve now decided he is the face of APE?
|
It's a 501c3 lobbying group. |
sorry I think it's a 501c4. |
Not sure what it means to be the face of APE. You said he had no affiliation. That was not correct. I was there too. I saw what I saw. |
No, voucher guy made a big stink about how he was NOT APE because they don’t support school choice. |
Voucher guy was definitely in APE in 2020-21. There whole "big tent" encompassed school choice advocates, anti-trans activists and book banners. Just because they aren't promoting any of that now doesn't mean that once they get some actual power on the SB that these issues won't come up again from their membership. |
Exactly. |
I’m all about open discussions. But that requires people engaging in good faith. Go read their newsletters. They go deep into budget criticisms. But then have nothing to say when the governor cuts the budget? That’s just one of many examples. |
Just got my ballot and voted for Kathleen (who is the most qualified) and Chen (who impressed me the most from the debates).
I want to say that all four of them are lovely people who care about our schools and are willing to do a thankless job for the next four years, and should be applauded. I think we're lucky to have such dedicated people running this year. I wish though that the Democratic Party endorsement process was better and they actually made an effort to get more people to vote. |
You also need to serve on an advisory committee to see their true colors. APE members make them miserable. They don't respect the staff that attends these meetings, pushing their own agenda on everyone else. Or just go off agenda to make these meetings totally unproductive. Unless you fall lockstep with their priorities, you're silenced and gaslighted. Especially if they are in a leadership position. |
