The whole attack on the consulate was ridiculous. I hope that Libya follows the rule of law and punishes the murders. I am not holding my breath in view of the how the rest of the region acts. The former opposition owe it to Chris Stevens.

News is coming in that the protesters were used as a front by the attackers to kill him.

So the entire movie about muslims excuse doesnt seem to be the reason why the killings happened. it sounds like there are/were legit people upset at the film, but some cowards took that opportunity to execute their attack and kill stevens and others.

Sad overall regardless of the inside story of it all.

Romney spoke because he's running for the highest office in the land and needs to point out that he is not a puss like the sitting president is. We need someone who will take action, not "work with the Libyan government" on this.

Chris Stevens was very literally the best and brightest, a smart, decent, thoughtful, articulate representative of the US government. i dont know. i havent seen info on that. maybe they were out to kill anybody at the embassy.

if stevens was the target, that opens up a whole new can of worms.

im not going to play the guessing game here since this thread was clearly started to isolate it from the politics of the situation. i was just reporting what ive heard and that the stupid movie wasnt the reason why he got killed.
