You can't blame Admin. Their hands are tied. They take orders from Central Office. They are directed not to enforce rules in order to be 'equitable'. They are directed to implement Restorative Justice practices instead of punishments. Admin is in a tough spot in MCPS. |
Chris Cram says claims that admins' hands are tied by CO is "nonsense": https://wjla.com/news/local/montgomery-county-public-schools-mcps-clarksburg-high-school-increases-security-after-fights-brawls-spark-concerns-among-parents-students-community-safety

If only they would make school more like kid prison. |
That's pretty much his job to say that. Look at his job title. |
Yes, you can as they just play the blame game and aren't consistent with the rules they make for their school. The kids know it and act accordingly. |
If that's what it takes to get the schools under control, I'm all for it. |
I personally think they're fine now. Why get all bent out of shape over a few kids vaping? |
As a teacher it is sometimes amusing to see admin talk to high schoolers like 2nd graders because of all the restrictions on accountability. |

Agreed. There was no new information in this report so not sure why WJLA put it out. |
Click bait, silly. |
We have several students coming to school each day high as a kite and strongly smelling of weed. We are told to do nothing. They cannot be searched unless we visibly see weed on them. |
Teachers really have to watch their reporting because they might lose their jobs as bad classroom managers |
