where is KSAC/RMSC going?

So we can assume the county is going to subsidize this and take away from the little space that is available for private clubs?

*nods grimly*

I think that's accurate - you've uncovered this dirty, hidden truth!

Now, what do you plan to do about it?

Yes. It’s strange they don’t open the silver spring pool more hours or the other county pools.

I don’t care about scores, I care about commute and times offered.

Except that is exactly what they are doing - the majority of the displaced KSAC need will be absorbed by the new Silver Spring pool according to the schedule they published 2 weeks ago.

Based on the the schedules posted here I think Silver Spring is only taking a plurality of the programming

No, it's clearly a majority. Also, keep in mind that all the Glenmont sessions become Silver Spring in the winter and any Glenmont use is not displacing anyone since it's not in use for any other club currently.

No other single location is taking as many KSAC sessions as SS if you look across all the groups.

That's only half the groups - where's the rest of the schedule? Glenmont is replaced w/ Silver Spring Nov-Mar.

The Glemnont makes no sense when the pool is closed in the fall vs. indoor at the Silver Spring pool. No one has said where they will go when it gets too cold. If there is no space in Silver Spring, it wouldn't go there.

The pool is being heated and the bathrooms are going to be "winterized". The plan is not for year round use but rather this will let them stay open longer into the fall and then open up earlier in the spring. During the months of December, January and February(and maybe longer, maybe shorter, exact dates not known) those RMSC WGOP slots will shift to Silver Spring.

So, for example, the Seniors "A" group would essentially be exclusively at Silver Spring in the winter months. Advanced Juniors would have 3 of their 5 sessions at Silver Spring in the winter. STG would have 5 out 6...

Been hearing about a lot of KSAC moving or trying out for other clubs…feels like a mini exodus. Guess it’s to be expected

With disruption comes opportunity; there are folks standing by to fill in any slots vacated by incumbents. RMSC will continue at capacity and the kids will adapt and thrive.

And as always RMSC will learn nothing
