Originally the plan was to move them to Wheaton in the summer and Silver Spring in the winter but now they are saying they are looking at other locations and some would be a nightmare. Waiting to hear.

This is what we have been told so far….

We have been seeking pool space throughout the County to host the KSAC RMSC team during the closure. We have promising options at the JCC, Old Farm Outdoor Pool and City of Gaithersburg. We have also contacted Montgomery College in Rockville.

In its commitment to continue the KSAC RMSC team during the closure, the county has installed a heater at the Wheaton Glenmont Outdoor Pool (WGOP). We are also working with DGS to have the bathhouse weatherized. Our goal is to use WGOP later into the year and earlier in the spring than we would typically be able to. We may also be able to provide limited space at the new Silver Spring Recreation and Aquatic Center once it opens. Unfortunately, using the facility has a number of barriers including parking for coaches or participants and the lack of early morning extended hours.

This sounds like a total nightmare. I know the poster above was tongue in cheek with the reference to ASA, but I would imagine people will consider transferring to ASA or NCAP G’town Prep.

As of last summer asa was full. All of these clubs are getting super full and it sucks if you want to transfer. My kids hs team practices at ksac and I’m really interested to see what they do.

JCC, Montgomery College, or City of Gaithersburg would not be bad location wise. Where is Old Farm Outdoor Pool?

Do you think the KSAC swimmers would transfer to other RMSC sites?

Old Farm is off Montrose Road so pretty close. Some will try to transfer sites, but they all can’t be accommodated that way obviously.

It depends. We wouldn't due to cost and we finally have great coaches. They promised silver spring and its not right they are changing it.

I emailed and asked and didn't get a response. I would assume you'd have to try out and there would have to be space.

City of Gaithersburg or MC would be a nightmare downcountry. Not sure how we'd make it work.

MC isn't too bad if it's Rockville campus, its next to RMSC Rockville. City of Gaithersbug would be nightmare for commute though.

Typically to transfer sites you have to try out at the new site just like anyone else.

Looking at the Spring/Summer schedule, if swimmers from other sites are interested in transferring to Rockville, they have to contact the coach. There is a spring tryout, but did not say anything about asking other RMSC swimmers to register for tryout.

Are the elite swimmers already contacting other teams?
