That deadly shooting was in my neighborhood. There were some incidents leading up to that shooting, including a Wild West style shootout involving 10 or 12 people at 2:45 pm on a Saturday the week before. Thankfully, we weren't home at the time, but we captured it on our home security camera (paid for by the Bowser administration). We were emailing everyone we could think of, saying, "you need to see this video." MPD officers knocked on the door but we weren't home and they never returned that day. ANC rep basically said, it happens every summer. MPD sent a detective by four days later. Then the deadly shooting happens. We even got video of the muzzle flashes. Now there's mobile spotlights, a mobile CCTV camera, constant police presence overnight, bicycle cops, community outreach workers, etc. But no Brandon Todd. |
