My 7mth old baby rolled off the bed!!!!!!!!!

My baby rolled right off the bed at 5 months. Onto a hardwood floor. Horrible thud.

Sorry you had to go through that OP, but it seems like everyone has a story similar!

My daughter rolled off the ottoman at 3 months. I had just walked away for 5 seconds. I didn't actually see her fall, but I heard it. The screaming was awful (silent for what seemed like the longest time.) She was OK but I felt horrible for days. I didn't even sleep for a couple days because I was worried about her sleeping or not sleeping or whether she had some crazy head injury. She was fine. Glad your baby is too. It's scary.

My 8 month old has fallen out of her seat twice in the past 2 weeks and landed directly on her face on the hardwood floor. Her little seat came unfastened somehow. She is oK< but screamed and had a bruise.

My solution was, I put my kids on the floor. They can't fall off the floor.

My son fell off the bed at 10 months old. It was awful, I hated myself that day. Because I am a single mom, I am really hard on myself about stuff like that.

My 10 week old fell out of my hands onto the hardwood floor on Christmas day 4 years ago. I was taking her to the bathroom for a bath and she flipped-flopped right down. Her first Christmas picture was adorned by her first black eye, making me guilty every time I look at it.

In a sleep-deprived state, I was holding our 8-week-old while at a small family gathering for my grandmother's funeral. 24-month-old is loping about and walks onto the grass-colored carpeting covering grandmother's interment site. I realized what was going to happen just before he fell into the grave

You probably wouldn't say this right now, but I promise you, ten years from now you would tell that story at parties and laugh out loud. Seriously, I feel for you, but it's funny to me.

That is a really good one. As PP said maybe not funny now but I'm sure all his girlfriends will hear that story.

Lmao @ that last story!!

DD was crying all night. She was 4 weeks old and I lived in a condo. To give my neighbors a break, I took the baby and she finally fell asleep on my chest. When she cried to nurse I rolled her on my right side to side nurse...but there was no bed there, so basicallly dropped her on the floor. Omg. She WAILED and then fell fast asleep for hours. I didn't sleep at all for the rest of the night, because I wanted to make sure she didn't go into a coma.

She's rolled off the bed more times than I can count but she was much older. At 2 now, she's totally fine.

20:23 here. I meant to say I took her to the living room to lie on my chest while I slept on the couch.

Other than the time I mentioned, I really don't make a big deal out of falls and scrapes. My daughter is rowdy and I love it.

This old thread is making me feel a teeny bit better. Tonight DD rolled off bed on to hardwood. Landed face/side of head first and has a very bruised nose. Off hours ped told us to take her to emergency room, and they said she was probably OK. But now its 4 am and Mom can't sleep.

DH and I took 6mo DS to a game night at a friends house. I put DS in the bedroom in his carseat (on the floor so he wouldn't fall off). Bedroom door was about 4 feet from me, heard a thump and wail and found him face down on the hardwood in front of the seat. Totally forgot to strap him in. He's 2 now and talking and knows his abcs and colors, so no damage I can see

When my second child was a newbirn, I took both kids to the store by myself for the first time. Baby was in the moby and I leaned down to pick up big sister to put her in the shopping cart. Baby came sliding out; I dropped big sister in my haste to catch the baby and caught him just as he hit the ground. We did a quick shopping, then got back to the car. I opened the car door, sister git in, and I walked around the car to put baby in, then started to drive away. Without closing the car doors. Oops. I didnt try a solo venture for a while after that.
