Take those self reported polls with a grain of salt. Kids don't want to report what they've done/haven't done even when anonymous. |
Ask any middle schooler what after-school clubs and the late bus are for. |
Exactly. Boys saying they used condoms more than the girls? Right there that shows you a bunch of lies are happening here. I would like an anonymous poll asking if you lie on the sex anonymous polls |
Yes |
+1 My 22yr old nerd dd has now confided in stuff I would never in a million years thought was happening in high school AND middle school. |
I think kids with time on their hands get into more trouble - sex, vaping, depression, social drama etc. I see this with kids in our MS.
Keep your kids busy and engaged! |
You can keep them busy if you want, just don't overschedule them, that's a big problem within itself. At any rate, if kids want to have sex, experiment with drugs/alcohol they're going to find a way. |
Keep your kids close. Busy doesn’t guarantee anything. |
we can debate this all day long, but by default the less time kids have on their hands the less time they have to engage in risky behavior. Its simple math. |
Ask Asian young adults in their early 20’s what their thoughts are on keeping them busy to keep them “perfect” Ask them about their scroll of mental health issues |
With that logic, the more extracurriculars, the more time outside the house so more opportunities to engage in sexual behavior at sports facilities, bathrooms, buses, etc. Ridiculous, no? |
Omg that would be so funny |
True today too. It’s much more common to do oral today. Kids thinks it’s not sex; no big deal. Similar with anal; it’s not “real” sex plus no pregnancy risks, and, why not? Agree it’s most common among the really popular / attractive / athletic kids, especially when it’s like a single parent household, and there’s time and a safe place to do it. |
A very small percentage of kids have sex before 15. Majority do not |
All the sports guys are partying and having sex so I am not sure how you equate this |
