Carnivore diet

Homo sapiens doesn't have the dentition for a straight carnivore diet. Clearly we are meant to consume plant matter in addition to meat.

It’s completely unsustainable for the environment.

Why so much hate for the carnivore diet? Different diets work for different people.

How so?

We are also meant to eat animals, so by your logic, veganism and vegetarianism are also constructs that Homo sapiens were not meant to be.

We are definitely biologically programmed to have meat in our diet. Just not only meat.

Horrible for the planet.

Really helped inflammation and an autoimmune condition for me.

Humans in general are bad for the planet. So is almond milk. Increased meat focused diets are so rare it’s a rounding error.

Saying that cows are horrible for the planet is kind of like saying that fish are horrible for the ocean.

That is great!

Cattle are responsible for 14-15% of methane emissions, most of it because we raise so many of them for beef consumption.

And yes, unsustainable farming of fish is also really bad for the ocean.

I say this as someone who eats both and doesn't plant to stop, but am getting increasingly pickier about the quality of meat I eat and how much of it I eat.

Humans thrive on meat though we can survive on plants. We are able to eat some plants and fruits though toxins in plants are know to aggravate and harm people in many ways. We cannot thrive solely on plants and our ancestors knew that we had to prepare plants in ways that reduced the toxins (boil them, ferment them etc) and fruits were treats that literally induce fatty liver in our ancestors to help them put on fat for the winter.

No those are not remotely analogous.

Except that, farmed fish are indeed horrible for the ocean.

Domestic cattle are a human creation and are indeed horrible for the planet at the current rate of production and population.

Nobody who understands basic ecology could ever seriously argue in the alternative.

I really want to start this diet but I’m curious why sugars from dairy are allowed but not a salad. Are all carnivores strictly carnivore and no plant based foods at all (fruit and veg)? I can’t even prepare or eat meat or poultry or fish dishes without vegs (garlic, lemon, bell peppers, salad).

I can believe the elimination of all grains is good for the body . All the vitamins and minerals one gets from grains are found in meat or nuts/seeds and dairy anyway.

I’m having a hard time understanding the utility behind keeping dairy but not plants
