Wut? Not everything is about Leslie. Leslie will or won't be chosen as the bachelorette, can you live with that? |
Do you know what "vested interest" means? It means you own stock in Faith, or you're her relative. Does anybody here actually have a "vested interest" in Faith? As far as who I'd like to watch, Faith is too country for me, but that's just me. |
Well, since I prefer Joan yeah... |
Are you male or female? Can you tell us what exactly you find attractive about Joan that makes her a superior candidate for Golden Bachelorette? Do you see any downsides to that pick --- even ones you're willing to accept? I'm just looking for her supporters to persuade me or at least help me understand the appeal b/c from what I've seen on GB and on the little instagram/tiktok videos that show up, she seems to be trying really hard to be current/trendy/interesting. But, what I see is someone who has a lovely, statuesque figure, really pretty hair, and who is a more introverted, guarded, quiet person. I wouldn't describe her as vivacious or charismatic or dynamic or hilarious based on what I've seen on the show and in other media. The non-expressive face has been mentioned. So, what puts her at the top of your list for being a lead? |
Female. I like that she seems genuine and has a good head on her shoulders. She seemed thoughtful and well-spoken, and like a nice friend to Faith and Ellen during ATR when she held their hands and looked mad on their behalf. She was endearing during the talent show. Although I agree with others that the cosmetic procedures are too much right now, she has a great look overall if she'd cool it with them. But these observations are based on what I saw on the show not her social media, which I haven't been following. And I don't disagree about her relative guardedness compared to the others. |
DP. I agree with this. I'd add that Joan has a certain dignity. But the producers might think her reserved personality (and I have one too) might make her a less exciting contestant. |
DP. I liked her in the talent show and when she went on the date with Gerry. She seemed warm and kind. She came off well when she left, too, to care for her daughter. I liked her personality. |
Probably. My two favorites were Joan and Edith, yes, the two most dignified and reserved. So I guess that's just my taste, but I can see how producers might feel neither would make for exciting tv. |
PP here. On the other hand, Gerry seemed to like her a lot, so maybe she has enough "it" factor for men of that age to be the bachelorette. It's not like Gerry was a super-dynamic funny guy/pickelball player/sex god. He offered warmth and sincerity (well until his ex talked to the press) but he wasn't exactly charismatic. |
PP again. They can infuse the show with charismatic guys for her to pick. |
I'm with you. Joan and Edith were my favorites too. Not only were they the most dignified, I also thought they were the prettiest. The big problem I have with Leslie is the lack of dignity. That attention-seeking pole dancing personality is too much; it might make for very good reality tv though, lol. Well, I mean, it already did... |
I like this idea a lot, but I suspect it might be too much of a risk. |
It's another reason Leslie would be fab on Dancing. My concern with her is that she has a long dating and marital history, and one of those guys probably needs money and wants to sell a story whether it's true or not. |
Her history is already out there, very different from Gerry's fabricated narrative. I can't imagine anything that would be a big surprise. But yes, Leslie would be great on DWTS regardless. |
I like Joan too but think she would have gotten more Golden Wedding screen time if she were a contender. I barely saw her. Susan, Kathy, Leslie, Faith, and Sandra were the only women who got real screen time, right? |
