Are there any attorneys who work part time or work from home?

I am just wondering if anyone has figured out a way to work part time as an attorney or to work from home. If so, how did you do it?

Focus on estates and trusts and network in the mommy and me groups.

I am in the litigation group of a small firm, and I'm PT, which is 10-6, 4 days a week. I was here for five years before so built up trust etc. It works for me.

There are a lot. For example, I know a partner at a large firm who works 4 days a week and a government lawyer that works 20 hours. I do not think it is that out of the ordinary.

You can sometimes cut back to pt after you have been somewhere for a while...but not always.

My agency allows considerable work from home. Many federal agencies do.

I'm an attorney that works for the feds and can telework whenever I want (provided people know where I am, and I am available while teleworking). There is a lot of flexibility and work life balance with the feds.

I have several friends that have this option with private firms as well, however they are small firms or they have been mommy-tracked by larger firms. As long as they are available by phone and e-mail, they can work from home.

OP here -- sorry I should define PT. Currently I work 8-4, and one day from home. I work for a federal agency, but only one day of telecommuting is allowed and it cannot be monday or friday. What agencies allow more teleworking or true PT?

I'm an expectant mom, an attorney and new to the area. Does anyone know of any attorneys or perhaps gov't contractors that could use some help during the day? I am looking for a way to meet people in my field, get out of the house and earn a little money unitl the baby is born. I'm not picky at all. I will even consider non-legal office work.

wow, care to share where?? I am in house and the best I can do is 9 to 5:30 (usually 6), 5 days a week, with no option to work from home. It is the kind of place where face time is needed...
