I am reading a lot of topics on here about teachers not getting paid very much. Well teachers, how much do you make? Make sure to say where you work, such as private, public, daycare, preschool etc. and the age/grade of children. I am just curious. |
Private. Montessori teacher. BS/MA/Montessori certificate. 16 years experience. $49 thousand |
4 years ago I made about 40k with a Masters and 5 years experience. |
I make around $45K with a Master's and a few years of experience. Public elementary school in Maryland (not Mont. Co.) |
I make 20k a year as a teaching fellow/assistant teacher. |
This is all a shame and exactly why I wouldn't go into the classroom setting. I make much more with private tutoring business 15 hrs a week |
25k, daycare, no degree, 5 years experience. |
3 years exp,public school (MoCo), JD, M.Ed, elementary school = $55k. |
6 years experience, M. Ed, public charter school for adults, 50K |
$46K, five years experience, DC Pre-K Incentive Program (which is the pilot for universal Pre-K in the District), community based center. M.A. |
34K, 10 years experience, CDA, Bright Horizon's. |
This is unbelievable sad for me to read. I mean, seriously?
Only a 10k difference between someone without a degree and someone with a Masters........WOW |
Me: $70k, 13 years experience, masters, public school
Husband: $46k, 14 years experience, bachelors, private school. |
No study has shown that a teacher with a master's degree is in any way better than one without. So why should they even be paid that much more? (Good teachers should be paid well, better than they are, but their salaries shouldn't be based on years of experience or if they have a master's degre.) |
Also, anyone can look up public school teacher salaries; they're on every district's website. |
