This is actually really shocking. You put a puppy up for adoption, rather than shooting it. This isn't merely a "rural thing". She's missing a couple circuits.

It is a rural thing. I was shocked to find out there are parts of the US where squirrel or coyote hunting occur. If a freaking squirrel or coyote is hunted down, I don’t think anyone from a rural area would think twice about shooting a noisy puppy to shut it up.

There are also wildlife hunting competitions that occur as well as shooting at ducks for fun. Hunting animals is a sport in the Us and for some people, they wouldn’t stop at a puppy

Please don't compare a puppy to a freaking squirrel or duck.

I live in a very rural area. Anyone that shoots a puppy and is found out is having the authorities called on them. It will also be a story on the local news stations. It’s not common place and certainly not bragged about.
A friend's husband got arrested in a rural area for shooting an owl that was eating his chicks. She should have been thrown in jail for shooting her puppy. What does she do when her kids misbehave?

She must have a gigantic ego. She thinks she is God. She has the power to choose life or death for her poor defenseless animals. Did she bury them or just leave their dead bodies for the buzzards to pick clean?

What did she tell her daughter when she asked "Where's Cricket?"

His is so disgusted and appalled by Noem. He said she is a psychopath and would absolutely harm a human. Based on these actions.

I really hope Trump picks her as his VP

Her VP chances have ended. This twitter response to her explanation made me laugh:

“Honestly, thanks for knocking yourself out of that VP spot. We all dodged the bullet that Cricket could not.”

exactly

there are deep lessons here

no matter the flaws of the modern world, we still agree on dogs

+1 Honestly, there's a real cluelessness in thinking that story should have been included in her book.

It suggests vetting experts who dig for dirt knew it would get out when she became a bigger national figure and were just trying to control the narrative.

+1 Perfect response!

Can someone explain why her husband wouldn’t shoot the dog if it really called for it? She was married at the time, right? I don’t care how tough and “MAGA” a wife is, this is something a man of the house would do (again, if it really called for it). I would also fault the man of the house for not training the dog.

Note: I know nothing about her husband.

Her education teases out she’s lazy and dumber than a box of rocks. This woman isn’t a politician, she’s a bimbo front for special interests in Dakota. It took her 22 years to finish a worthless BA from various degree mills.

Noem attended Northern State University from 1990 to 1994, but did not graduate. Her daughter, Kassidy, was born on April 21, 1994. Noem left college early to run the family farm. She added a hunting lodge and restaurant to the family property. Her siblings also moved back to help expand the businesses.[2] Noem subsequently took classes at the Watertown campus of Mount Marty College and at South Dakota State University, and online classes from the University of South Dakota.[2][4][6] She completed her BA in political science at SDSU in 2012 while serving in Congress.

WTF?
Would it have been any better if the husband had shot the dog? Any normal person would have called a vet for humane euthanasia.

Shooting it is as humane as it gets. It's dead in a second.

Yeah, that worked out really well for the goat she shot next. Missed a little on that one.

How does one miss a goat at point blank range?

I don’t, but if they deemed it justified, why didn’t the husband do it? Simple question.

She clearly wanted to kill. Normal people would have been traumatized by the act of shooting a puppy, but she decides it's a good time to shoot the family goat. She's a psychopath.
