Photographer Recommendations

Hi all,
I'm looking for recommendations for a photographer to take some 1 year pics of my DS this summer. I'm hoping for someone who is mid to low range price-wise, as I can't afford higher end at the moment. I emailed 2 different friends' recommendations and haven't heard back so I'm getting a little frustrated. I guess it is a busy season for picture taking!

We've used Shannon Lee of Dainty Lamb Photography. She is great with kids, and moderately priced for a professional photographer (though not cheap, $100 session and prints sold separately). She specializes in natural light, outdoor photography, although we've had her do indoor stuff too.

Both sets came out well and at a lower cost than some as they are both still developing their portfolio.

I loved working with Tomerlin Photography. Their pictures were incredible. I used a groupon deal...not sure what their regular prices are.

I loved working with Stacey Vaeth and have used her several times. She will capture wonderful shots of your little one and I've had great family shots. She is at the higher end for prices but often offers "mini sessions" that are very reasonably priced. Website: http://staceyvaeth.com/

go to the mall and have the people at picture people do it. seriously, it is very budget friendly and the cheese factor can be kept to a minimum with tasteful outfits.

Dan Winters Photography. Located in NY but visits DC frequently (family here). Portrait sessions start at $300, I believe; this should include a CD of hi-res images and full rights to use them however you want.

Highly, highly reccomend www.aliaphotography.com. She is super nice, great to work with, and does a fantastic job. We just got our newborn photos back with a CD of 90 digital images that are all just beautiful!

I'd highly recommend Nicole Driscoll (driscollkids.com) based out of Old Towne, but travels into NW DC and I'd assume close in Mont. County- we used her for 1 year pics of both my daughter and son. Both of my kids are very active and we were convinced both times that there was no way we walked away with one picture. In both cases we were so wrong and have gotten countless compliments on the pics. Nicole will come to your home or meet at any outdoor place and also does "mini sessions" that are smaller sessions with lower sitting fees and preset packages if you're looking to save some money..

Check out Timorah Beales. She just did my daughter's first birthday pics and also did a cake smash at the end of it. Pics are on her blog. It was so fun and her prices are very reasonable.
