Students are not yet doctors. And med students take classes from faculty who are not all practicing clinicians. |
They are actually banned in any reputable hospital for clinical staff and have been for some time. The long acrylic fingernails of nurses were linked to lethal outbreaks of bacterial infections in NICU babies. https://www.ormanager.com/briefs/studies-link-bacteria-from-long-nurse-fingernails-to-lethal-infections-in-infants/ |
How is this at all relevant to a 16 year old or someone working in an office? |
It’s relevant to the post about med students wearing these nails, which is the sub-topic PP was replying to. Try to keep up. |
You’ll never know. |
That’s what don’t get. What teens are getting them except the kids doing nothing. |
I see. Your latest post is as intelligent and well-thought-out as the previous ones. |
I posted about my med students. That post was in response to some fool's nonsense about how no one smart has ever had acrylic nails. My students are plenty smart. And the ones with the long, acrylic jeweled nails are 1M or 2M, and as such are either not working in a clinical setting at all yet, or not wearing their nails like that when they are. Either way -- they are plenty smart. Unlike the PP who says that anyone with acrylic nails is not. |
I can’t make you want to have class. That doesn’t mean you don’t understand. You are simply making a choice. |
Are you sure you have class? Or is it something mommy dearest told you? Because you haven't displayed it on this thread yet. |
I will laugh my fat ass off at lime green triangle nails as much I please. They look f'ing stupid. |
Acrylic nails are more than simply a fashion statement. They are a status symbol.
From this article, which is several years old. Acrylics are even more mainstream now. https://www.refinery29.com/en-gb/acrylic-nails-class-meaning |
It's also relevant to a 16 year old working anywhere depending on their cleanliness habits and by that I mean how they wipe themselves and how well they clean those nails afterwards. It matters and should not be dismissed. |
Nursing students do clinical work and are not allowed to wear nail polish or artificial nails for obvious reasons. |
The ultimate judge on what looks "f'ing stupid" has ruled. I guess we just close this thread. |
