I don't see anywhere in MoCo that's that far from UMBC.

Have you ever driven to/from UMBC during rush hours? Yea, didn't think so.

In the DC metro, miles don't matter, the traffic matters. It sometimes takes me 30 minutes to go 5 miles.

Just limit attendance at the graduations already and have them closer to the schools.

Driving to UMBC during rush hour is far better than driving to DAR.

DP but that's 100% true.
Used to do Uber sometimes, you could not pay me to drive to DAR/DC during rush hour. But I would do BWI in a heartbeat during rush hour.

People are willing to travel just as far via car, metro, bus or walk to get to DAR than to drive to UMBC. For some, DC is closer, others Catonsville. HS field is closest.

Sorry. what's a Baltimore?

Great satire, like I laughed. (Coming from someone who isn't from Baltimore and had their kid graduate in UMBC)

HS field > DAR > UMBC Catonsville 15 min from BWI airport

Do Baltimore school HS graduations take place in DC or in a suburb of DC (PG county if an arena of size exists)?

None of us are excited to get up early and drive up to Baltimore for this impersonal graduation, and I don't even want to ask family to do this. My kid is already asking if they can just skip and sleep in. Is there a way to make this celebratory? Go to lunch afterwards?

Nah not disappointed

Lol, imagine if a MCPS HS graduation was at the BWI Airport

From what I saw, Baltimore county schools have graduations at Towson, and most of the PG HS schools are in the Xfinity Center arena from UMD or the Show Place Arena.

Towson probably has a large venue. MoCo needs one. Elrich?

There was at one point a plan to build one at Shady Grove. Don't know what became of that.

We really do need a facility in MoCo that would allow our high schools to hold graduation ceremonies. There should be space upcounty to do this.

But you can take metro to DAR if situation is really bad. You can’t metro to UMBC.

My child's high school has bus transportation to UMBC. If your child's high school doesn't, talk to the principal.
