The kids understand the fascist surveillance state has been here for a while.

Shhhhhh the boomers don’t know about swarm of drones equipped with facial recognition technology. It wasn’t covered in cable news.

pro tip: if you’re engaged in peaceful protest, you do not need to hide your face.

It's only peaceful until your government says it isn't. Major news outlets did post pics of the Trump rally on the mall and you could see people clear as day.

The difference is that there was widespread popular support for the Civil Rights protestors. Here, there isn’t. That means that the protestors are largely bored and spoiled kids, because the adults who have a lot to actually lose aren’t joining in. The Civil War protests were made powerful by people who had a lot to lose, and so who acted with dignity, strength, and grace. These are just entitled brats.

However, the protestors have inadvertently caused what is arguably the best GoFundMe description in history. I will give them that.

The difference is Israel support is all astroturf. The similarities are the same people who are against civil rights are pro Israel

You are so ignorant it isn't even close to funny.

Do you know who's been on the side of civil rights all this time? Jews. We have been there marching, donating, voting, working, all of it. It is one of the reasons that seeing the pro-Gaza protestors say such despicable, hateful things feels like such a betrayal now.

None of you are advocating for peace. You don't even want peace. You want to be the bloody victors of a horrible war. You're disgusting, immoral, history-blind people.

NP. PP, you’re the ignorant one! I’m in-laws with one of those Jewish families that famously funded MLK and ended up on Nixon’s enemies list (bc he thought them in a cabal!). The people they can’t abide aren’t campus protesters, it’s their bigoted in-laws and relatives who support the genocide in Israel and, quite frankly, Trump in America.

Oh, did you marry into a Jewish family and now you're an expert on being Jewish? Well why don't I just forget what I know from actually being Jewish and just listen to you. You're such an expert. Go solve the Middle East conflicts while you're at it, oh all knowing one.

Hey, jerk, stop making up crap. I’ve been to Kaifeng, Kochin, Bukhara, etc. Jews can be many things, not just what you Zionists claim. You have NO idea of my background, you just need nonsense for your hasbara.

I’m just speaking to the Jews who funded the American Civil Rights movement and MLK. That’s a small group and I’m 99.99% sure I am wildly better versed in their attitudes than you are.

Do you use that language with your in laws? Or do you keep your mask on so they don't know what you really think. I'll bet the latter.

You are as ignorant as you are hateful.

What happened to shut up and dribble the ball? Or shut up and act?

I thought you fascists were opposed to people outside the political class having an opinion? Oh, only when don’t like the opinion. Got it.

See Binken’s statement today, he said that if ceasefire deal fails, it will be only due to Hamas. How quickly he sheltered and absolved Israelis of any responsibility. This after Netanyahu said that Rafah invasion will happen with or without ceasefire.

I mean I hate to say this but it doesn’t look like Blinken is representing U.S foreign policy. Actions speak way louder than words.

YUGE conflict of interest. Why does he even have that job?

Even if a college divests, nothing changes. Like, literally nothing.

Protest peacefully in Washington. Lobby your reps on the Hill.

If you just want to cosplay “activist” on your parent’s dime instead of studying for exams, then do it in DC. At least it will be somewhat effective.

People don't want to do that in this instance for the repercussions of being labeled antisemitic or pro-Hamas or losing their job. That's why it will come out at the ballot box.*

For comparison, I was in this crowd of 100K on 10/26/2002 for the ANSWER rally to protest the looming war with Iraq. For comparison, I looked up the total death count by that point: about 22,000 Afghans. So not even close to the total death count in Palestine we've already unfortunately seen.

Bush did what he wanted and another 250K to 380K civilians died.

Here's the rally for those who want to relive, there was also a march: https://www.c-span.org/video/?173521-1/anti-war-rally

*AP polling as of early February (so undoubtedly much higher) showed...
"Half of US adults say the military response from Israel in the Gaza Strip has gone too far, up from November" and
Only "31% of U.S. adults approve of Biden’s handling of the conflict, including just 46% of Democrats"

Ok.

And which American presidential candidate will handle things differently/better…recognizing we really don’t have any control over what Israel does?

Biden stands with Israel.

Trump will, too.

So, is there someone you think has the silver bullet?

So, just leave Israel unchecked? Throw up our hands? I think most people in the world would hope people would protest 35K civilians dead in 6 months.

Um, do you not follow the news?

ICYMI: The US and the UK are working tirelessly to get this under control. Google it. Heavy coverage starting 48 hours ago. Go educate yourself on what the sane leaders from the civilized countries are doing to put an end to the suffering.

Nobody is leaving Israel unchecked. All of this is just more complicated at the local, regional, and global levels than you realize.

Pro tip: If you dissent the power class, no matter how peacefully, you are surveilled, targeted and brutalized. In fact you don’t even have to dissent, merely recording or reporting on events makes you a target.

Of course they don’t want to be identified. On some level they know that supporting Hamas really isn’t a great look. But they’re too cowardly to show their faces.

Um, it’s safe to assume that the terrorists would be the ones dragging their feet and spoiling any attempt at a ceasefire.

Sometimes one party actually is the unreasonable a-hole.

Oftentimes the stubborn instigator of an a-hole is readily apparent based on their unreasonable behavior.

They're not following the news. The read sound-bites and parrot them over and over again.
Most of the people who can't go thirty seconds without barking out "Zionist" don't even know what a Zionist is and hadn't heard the term a year ago.

I mean you really think you can defend Netanyahu??? Is there a bigger a-hole in the ME than Netanyahu? I don’t think so.

Seven months later someone is still afraid to state the obvious.

Yes the Rafah invasion will happen and yes US boots will be on the ground.
