weekly grocery bills

Anonymous
We've started to try and get groceries once a week (husband and I now go shopping together on the weekend in the a.m. with our son). Anyway - I'm trying to get a handle on what a reasonable grocery amount is for three adults (mom lives with us) and a 16 month old. If you budget or have a general estimate, what do you think is reasonable...or, what do you generally spend?
We do through in extras at times, like bouquets of flowers and whatnot, and of course there are the bi-weekly diaper requirements, but I'm just trying to figure out what would be reasonable.
Thanks.

yikes, I meant we "throw" in extras...

I would suggest tracking all of your grocery shopping for 2-3 weeks and then determine a number you think is good for you and your family. You might discover you're not spending much, or you could decide you are spending waaaay too much and need to trim some fat. I think it is really hard to use what someone else is using as we all have different wants and needs.
