Surprising Potomac School

To what end would a Potomac parent start this thread? They have to know that everyone on this board just flames every comment. If you say "X is great" you get blasted with "way to go X mom" if you say "Y is bad" you get blasted with "Sounds like your son got cut from Y." This board is full of trolls that have nothing better to do but slap around everyone regardless of the comment. Where's the civility? If it was a Potomac goalie mom, who cares, did they state facts or lies? If it was a McLean mom, who cares, did they state facts or lies? I didn't see the game so I can't speak to it but I imagine someone here saw the game. Were the first two goalies from Potomac really good and stopped a ton of shots? Was the team small but good? Were they trash? For the record, I AM a Potomac mom but I have a daughter playing lacrosse at Potomac. Regardless, and I am sure this will get flamed as well, when someone offers an opinion it is fine to challenge that opinion. When someone offers fact, even if it is sensationalized fact and a little PR for their kid, who does that hurt? Was it fact? I don't know the score and checked the site and it was only a scrimmage so I have no idea.

Let's be civil, but I'll prepare myself for the flaming trolls on the count of 3......2.......

I believe it was a mom to one of the 9th graders at Potomac. I won't go into why, except to say it is one over-invested bunch.

Yup, its such lame way to try and denigrate someone, and almost always used against moms.

This "lable" (over-onvested parent) is the adult equivalent of teenage boys calling a girl crazy or psycho because she isn't compliant with their every wish and has her own opinion and voice.

Actually, it is a bit psycho/crazy to pretend to be a McLean parent and rave about the "opposing" goalies at Potomac. And then to suggest that misrepresenting your school affiliation is normal behavior, so long as the "fact" that your son played well is true. (it was a scrimmage, by the way). And to ascribe a fake, disrespectful quote (Potomac is trash) to your non-existent "son on the McLean team" is not very nice. I can think of words much worse than "over-invested" to describe this person's behavior.

The only crazy poster PP looks to be you to anyone who is at all rational. I seriously doubt these posts are fake. And even if they were, who the f*ck cares? Only a psycho.

It would be better to simply post Potomac school will surprise people this season. The goalies were very strong in the scrimmage v McLean. No more posts would be needed

Maybe we can just say that the 15:37 "psycho" poster is trash and let it go at that.

Trust me mom, us laid back parents see you down there, watching your attacker on whichever end he's on, just waiting for that goal. As long as you're going to be so "invested" how about telling him to pass once in a while.

Don’t know anyone on this post, but did watch Potomac yesterday vs BI and they got beaten pretty easily. 12-5

Well if you are on this site you might want to look in the mirror and check how laid back you really are.

It usually happens after 8th but last year the freshman class lost some boys to Landon who couldnt handle the academic demands and there are rumors the 8th grade once again has strong players looking to switch to schools like Landon, GP and Gonzaga. Niced to know the team looked good. Coach Via is a good guy.

Coach Via hasn't been the coach for YEARS at Potomac.

And you’re quoting a post from the heady days before Covid.
