Best 4 day jaunt in the US

We had a fabulous trip to Acadia national Park this summer and four days would’ve been perfect.

That said -- DH and I spent 4 days in Santa Fe last spring and loved it -- great hiking and biking, terrific food, beautiful art in museums and galleries, a place where you really sense the history and culture that have evolved there. If that appeals to you, Southwest flies direct to Albuquerque from BWI. Then it's a quick and scenic drive up to SF -- definitely take the Turquoise Trail route and stop in Madrid for lunch and a hike in nearby Cerrillos Hills State Park.

This sounds nice.

We just spent several days in Santa Fe. Did one of our favorite hikes of all time, Tent Monuments. However, you should be aware that there is lots of shopping/culture etc, but it is very southwestern.

NOT VEGAS. Unless you smoke and gamble.

Boston and Providence. Montreal and Quebec City. Chicago. New York City and Hudson Valley.

People always say this like they are near each other. Its a 3 hour drive from one to the other, which is a lot when you've traveled so far to get to the first location.
