we loved our value city sectional (had to get rid of it when we moved). Just got a step up one from Belfort. So far so good. |
I bought our kids furniture at Value City—it was their higher line but still quite inexpensive. It looks great and I love not worrying if anything happens to it. |
^ we didn’t get mattresses there. Went to mattress discounters and got good mattresses. |
I’ve bought from all three at one point in the last 10 years. All of it has lasted. We bought my dd’s bed set from Bob’s 2 years ago. It’s heavy and takes up a lot of space, poor measuring on our part. We bought a love seat from Value City. My dh thinks it’s uncomfortable but it’s lasted 6 years and moved houses with us. My dh is a big guy and it hasn’t broken from weight yet. Bought a desk last March from Bob’s and I love it. Bought a couple of night stands from Ashley in December, the location in Columbia has a warehouse of discount furniture and they will lower prices if you ask, we like them.
Is the furniture high quality — no. But if you mix and match with quality furniture then I think it works. |
Class act. Have some respect for businesses regardless of price point. |
We bought a dresser for our teenage son's bedroom at Bob's. It's fine. Their dressers were all the exact same dressers that were for sale on Wayfair. At the time I could not justify buying a nice solid wood dresser. Note we did not buy Bob's lowest end option because the drawers on those dressers didn't pull out completely. We bought the next model up. |
We've bought furniture from Bob's a number of times and never had issues. We love the pieces we bought and they lasted quite a long time. I just bought a new house and bought master bedroom furniture and living room furniture from them, which attests to the fact that we like them.
We are the kind of people who would get really annoyed if someone spilled coffee or wine on an expensive sofa, so it's nice not to worry. |

I hope you're a troll. Otherwise, you sound like white privilege and white trash all wrapped up in one. |
We bought a sectional from Bob's for our basement teen hangout area. We bought the goof-off policy ($149? $199?) that ensures if it gets stained, ripped, or broken in any way, they will clean, fix or replace at no cost to you. We have had it for 4 years, and at one point one of the teen age girls ripped part, they replaced it with a brand new sectional.
We are fans. |
I found better quality and looks for similar pricing at Macys (stuff always seems to be on sale) and at Greenfront in Manassas. |
I LOVE my Bob's leather sectional with dual recliners. It has held up well to two very messy kids (now age 2& 5) and a messy DH! It's about 6.5 years old and is still super comfy. |
Bought nice looking pieces from Bobs for our teen DD 8 years ago and they are doing fine. It was a more grown up style she liked and we didn’t want to spend a lot. Our DS is content with pieces bought from Value City about 16 years ago. They’ve held up really well. |
My friend had sofas from VC that she bought in 2010 that are comfortable and still in nice shape.. I went to VC about 2 years ago and couldn't find similar quality. Bought sofa and love seat from Ashley in 2013. It looks great but not comfortable at all. |
How would you compare this furniture to: overstock; wayfair; stuff you get on amazon, etc.
aren't they all basically the same cheap Chinese furniture? |
