If you are a SAHM, I don't think a 5 day program is really designed for SAHMs. 5 days a week sounds like it is a program for working parents. Traditional preschools (3 hrs in the morning or afternoon) usually have 2 or 3 mornings (or afternoons) a week for 2 year old (if they have a 2 yr old program at all), 3 days a week for 3 yr olds and 3-5 days a week for 4 yr olds. Kids start going to school 5 days a week in K so the way I see it, if you are a SAHM, you should well actually spend time w/ your child instead of sending them off to preschool the maximum amount at the earliest age possible. They have 15-20 yrs of school ahead of them. No need to overdo it at age 2. |
What are the hours of the morning program? |
If you can stay with your 2 yr old a few mornings in addition to the preschool, you have the best of both. That's not always an option for everyone. |
Even if you are a SAHM the five morning program can be beneficial for your child. There are still many hours in the day to interact with your child. |
How long is the day? My 4.5 year old is finally starting preschool in the fall and she will go for 5 days. But it's only from 9-12. So it in no way helps with childcare. I think this would be perfect for a SAHP or someone with a very flexible work schedule. |
Not really. If the child come home from school at noon, he eats lunch and then probably has an afternoon nap leaving a few hrs before bedtime. 5 days a week is too much for a 2 yr old. |
