I can't stand my teenager right now!

I can't stand my teenage daughter right now, she lies so much I don't know if anything she is saying is true. She has had excessive absences in school, which can cause me to go to court and get a fine. She does caddy little things that get on my nerves and she is very sarcastic and arrogant. I have no idea where I went wrong with her. She has a twin brother who is the opposite. He lies sometimes, but about stupid stuff nothing major. My daughter has gotten my window busted, has had girls come to my apartment and fight her. She say's she stays after school for tutoring but teachers would call me and tell me that she is walking the halls and playing around the bathrooms with boys. She also made allegations against my ex that he made advances to her for sex, which came out to be a lie. I am so tired of dealing with her. I have tried talking to her, about being a trustworthy person about remaining focused in school, she just wont listen. I am thinking about sending her to a boarding school, where she will have more structure and possibly receive a better education.

How about some therapy? I'm sorry to say, but the idea of sex abuse crossed my mind immediately. Perhaps it wasn't your ex, but that doesn't mean something hasn't happened. I'm sorry you are both going through this and I know the teen years can be horrible. But don't give up. It "can" get better.

I hear you ,my 16 yr old daughter is making my life miserable. She lies like there is no tomorrow .Only nice when she wants something, tells me I m crazy,Pysco.I ask her to do something she flat out says no.Like meet me after school for a conference with your teacher .......no I dont want to .She has lost all respect for me and I am sending her to a boarding school next year.I have taken her texting away and that seems to be the only way to get her to do anything. She was such a good kid.No drugs ,alcohol or anything like that she is just disrespectful and nasty as all hell ,and will not do her schoolwork ,Im loosing my mind!!!!!

It is a normal part of the teen years to have some conflict with parents - at this stage teens are starting to crave more independence and they will want to make their own decisions more and more. However, if your teen appears to be out of control or self-destructive, the it is not a normal teen behavior. You should respond as soon as possible. The least that you can do is to send your teen to a boarding schools for problem teenager if you think his conditions worsens and you think you can't control it.
