Appropriate age for Taylor Swift concert?

A limo for a 9yr old? WAY over the top. I don't get rushing these kids into things. I agree with you OP. Too much too soon. What will she expect at age 13? Going alone to a rap concert.

I agree that the limo is over the top, but it's not really like you can say yes to the concert and no to the limo if that is what the group is doing.

I think age 9 is fine for Taylor Swift.

I saw her at a festival in Nashville a few years ago. She's totally tame and in fact, kind of an awkward performer and this was for an adult crowd- because most people weren't probably there for Taylor Swift specifically, she played the same night as Eric Church and others whose songs are about drinking and getting high, etc. if I remember right. If she headlines the crowd will skew significantly younger and I think 9 is just fine.

I started going to concerts with my parents really early- lots of lawn and outdoor shows at ampitheaters and some at our local (smaller town) arena for "big" events like my 11th birthday etc.
In fact, my mom and I still go to concerts together about 2-3 times a year- I was just looking at tour dates for a band we both like today in fact (I'm 34!)

Well I took my 4 yo and 6 yo to Taylor Swift's Speak Now concert. And we took a limo.

The limo was because I didn't want to deal with Metro and two tired kids and I didn't want to deal with parking and driving. So, we went with a limo. I would have done a town car, but they didn't have anything available. It was such an experience and they still talk about it today.

We also went to her Red concert. We are going to the 1989 concert and they will be 8 and 10. This time we are going with their cousins and driving.

As for the concert itself. I didn't see anything inappropriate. My youngest thought it was loud and we didn't make it through the entire thing, but it was so much fun. Can't wait for July.

Perfectly fine. Have fun! (Jealous here because my 9 yr old DS won't go with me.) b

I'm sure there will be 3yo's there but I feel hesitant. I feel like kids should be at least 13. What's everyone's experience with concerts and this age? Thanks!

They're all sold out. Sorry OP's DD

You don't know much about how to get tickets to something in 2015, do you??

Besides, they were even available yesterday "for real."

When I was around that age, it was a big thing for girls in my town to have a limo ride as part of a birthday party-- it wouldn't be going anywhere extravagant (I think once we went to the mall?!), but it's a fun experience for girls that age. I do think you should probably talk to your daughter about it and make sure she sees this as a fun treat/special thing rather than just an activity, but as long as she knows that, I think it's fine.

In terms of appropriateness/safety, there's definitely not a problem.

Where did you live that getting a limo at age 9 is the norm. Geez!

Very appropriate. Lots of little girls at Taylor Swift shows. Even 6-7 year olds.

I have to disagree here. There may be some 9yr olds but it is not the norm by a long shot. And it is nowhere near the norm that there are 6 and 7yr olds there. I have been to two TS concerts and most kids are teens. I have never seen kindergarten-aged kids at any concert I have gone to.

JUST checked, as in just now. Tickets in ALL price levels still available. On the regular site. Not stub hub.

I'm taking my 9 yr old and her best friend. Didn't occur to me they were too young! I'm sure it'll be fine. Your bank account, on the other hand...
