Appropriate age for Taylor Swift concert?

Anonymous
DD is 9 and is invited to attend a Taylor Swift concert. I am debating if this is too young. Even though TS's music is ok for kids this age, I don't know about concerts. I'm sure there will be 3yo's there but I feel hesitant. I feel like kids should be at least 13. What's everyone's experience with concerts and this age? Thanks!

The right age for child to attend is 13.

Is she going alone with a friend, or will there be parents attending? I went to my first concert with my parents at 5 years old (Merriweather Post), and was allowed to go on my own with friends around 13 or 14. There were lots of concerts with parent chaperones before I was 13.

from OP - I should have said that parents are going. Including me. But I just wonder if this is too mature or extravagant for a 9 year old. The group is taking a limo!

Without parents, 14 or 15. With, 9 or 10.

Sounds like a blast!

I bet there will be a lot of 9-year olds there.

You know what's funny? I read just the title of your post, and before opening to read the body I thought "9? 7! 7 is old enough" and then saw your kid is 9.

Here's the thing: a Taylor Swift concert will attract lots and lots of girls, and a few supportive husbands/fathers/boyfriends. There won't be any element of danger, aside from getting lost in the crowd. Go. Bring earplugs for everyone.

She won't appreciate it as much as a 12 year old might, but it still sounds like a grand time. It's good that you're going with her. That's what I would do.

I am taking my 9 year old daughter to the concert. Never crossed my mind she would be too young for it.

My 9 year old is going with one parent. She's really looking forward to it. I have no concerns at all.

Where is the concert?! I need to get tickets NOW for my 9 year old DD!

People. Those tickets went on sale in December. Guess you're headed to StubHub.

Taylor is one step above Disney. By 13, she'll be past that phase. Let her go.

I'm taking my 7-y-o to this concert. There are other concerts I wouldn't take her to, but I figure a Taylor Swift show will be geared toward young female fans, there probably isn't a safer concert environment.

(I went to my first concert -- Shaun Cassidy -- at 9.)

You're kidding, right?
