Songs that bring you back to specific moments - what song and which moment?

The whole Greenday "Dookie" album reminds me of the summer I worked at a lake side motel in Montana the summer before sophomore year in high school.

The Carpenters: I'm on Top of The World. Lying onthe lawn. 5th grade. Smell of fresh mowed grass

Rolling Stones:Miss You. Lying on beach, summer of 7th grade, scent of coppertone

The Cars: Moving in Stereo. In my room lying on green shag carpet. Scent of Loves Baby Soft.

The Police: Every Breath You Take. College on the quad, music wafting out dorm windows. Fall in New England.

Madonna: Borderline. Dancing at a party at The Fly
Club, Harvard. Scent of best friends Tea Rose.

Level 42: Leaving Me Now. Alone in my apartment. 21 yo. Boyfriend just broke up with me. Poison perfume by Dior. Or maybe it was Lou Lou.

Nirvana. Smells like teen spirit. Summer steamy night air. Kissing my best friends roommate in the pouring rain.

Sheryl Crow. All I wanna do is have some fun. My 30th birthday. Champagne and roses

Forever Young reminds me of high school prom. Let's Get Physical by Olivia Newton John and lots of Madonna songs (Lucky Star and You Can Dance) remind me of dancing around with my girlfriends in the basement in 6th/7th grade. Baby Come To Me reminds me of my first boy-girl dance in 6th grade - it was the only slow song played, and was played many times during the night. Most Beatles and Paul Simon songs remind me of my parents. Peter Gabriel So album reminds me of late nights hooking up with my college boyfriend. Shout (kick your heels up and shout) and Jump, Jump remind me of frat parties. Brandy, Closer To Fine and Sultan of Swing remind me of summers down the shore with college friends. Upside Down and You Are My Sunshine remind me of rocking my kids to sleep when they were babies. Safety Dance makes me think back to owning a 45 and playing it again and again until it drove my parents mad. We Will Rock You and Running with the Devil makes me think of hs football games. This is fun, I could go on forever.

Can you guess my age

You are 42. I like your taste in music, but Blister in the Sun was Violent Femmes

So many of them.

If You Leave by OMD was on the car radio when I drove to take my SATs.

Summer of '69 will forever remind me of having fun with my HS friends.

This is the Time by Billy Joel totally makes me nostalgic for senior year and HS graduation.

Just about anything by Don Henley, John Cougar Mellencamp, and Tom Petty reminds me of the long drive down to college.

The Joker and Margaritaville totally bring back partying in college bars.
