Songs that bring you back to specific moments - what song and which moment?

Anonymous
I just heard "one headlight" and immediately flashed back to learning to waterski (a grad school friend's DH was really into boats and I got to hang out with them a few times). It was his "jam" and he totally played the song about 20 times over the course of the (extremely awesomely fun) Saturday. I haven't even been near a river in years, but all of a sudden I could remember every danged thing about that day.

Also, every time I hear a Jimmy Buffet song I bounce back to a particular tiki bar that I used to go to as an undergrad.

Maybe it's the combination of beautiful weather and a crappy day, but every song I hear has me flashing back to a fun filled spring/summer day.

So I'm curious... what sparks your memories?

Also, Happy Almost Weekend Everyone!

I snuck out of my house about 4 times a week. I was not allowed to see the guy. I was 16 and he was 19. I love my husband dearly, but this guy and I had the perfect sexual chemistry. I guess everything is awesome at 16!

Ugh. Landslide & the old woman song by pearl jam both remind me of these intense moments with my college boyfriend - the one I've never forgotten or even fully gotten over - even 20 yrs later. And the Madonna erotica album reminds me of sex with him. The best...

Here I Go Again by White Snake reminds me of the summer I turned 16. In particular it reminds me of a day at the water park with my brother and some friends. Someone (not in my group) vomited chunks all over a walkway close to where we were standing in line for a slide. Since it was a water park no one had shoes on and people kept walking through the vomit. Some of them would stop and get grossed out but some never noticed. It's still funny all these years later.

Springsteen, "Darkness on the Edge of Town"-sitting in the living room while while my dad cooked peppers and onions in the kitchen.

Blind Melon "No Rain" and Four Non-Blonds "What's Up"-sitting in the kitchen of my apartment waiting for a girl I was desperately in love with.

I love this topic! The NPR show On the Media did a similar piece on the sad comments people leave on youtube about songs and memories-totally worth a listen: http://www.onthemedia.org/story/12-hunting-youtubes-saddest-comments/

In no particular order ... Melt With You by Modern English and Blister In The Sun by The Cure remind me of high school parties thrown by the local all boys prep school. Forever Young reminds me of high school prom. Let's Get Physical by Olivia Newton John and lots of Madonna songs (Lucky Star and You Can Dance) remind me of dancing around with my girlfriends in the basement in 6th/7th grade. Baby Come To Me reminds me of my first boy-girl dance in 6th grade - it was the only slow song played, and was played many times during the night. Most Beatles and Paul Simon songs remind me of my parents. Peter Gabriel So album reminds me of late nights hooking up with my college boyfriend. Shout (kick your heels up and shout) and Jump, Jump remind me of frat parties. Brandy, Closer To Fine and Sultan of Swing remind me of summers down the shore with college friends. Upside Down and You Are My Sunshine remind me of rocking my kids to sleep when they were babies. Safety Dance makes me think back to owning a 45 and playing it again and again until it drove my parents mad. We Will Rock You and Running with the Devil makes me think of hs football games. This is fun, I could go on forever.

Can you guess my age
