I find "weird" to be frequently funny.

But then again I've never found Jay Leno funny, and have never understood his popularity for the under 70 age group. I feel like his entire career has been one, painfully long "why did the chicken cross the road" joke.

+1

Leno was kind of embarrassing to watch.

Leno didn't trust his audience to "get" the jokes, so he'd just repeat, and repeat, and repeat the punch line. Colbert is a surprisingly decent replacement for Letterman and a good other option if you don't like Fallon.

Wow!

I'll miss his character and exposure of conservative hypocrisy as well.

So the next question is who should get their own show on Comedy Central to fill his time slot?

Don't like the competition for Fallon as it seems like they target similar audiences.

He'll be fantastic. He is really, really smart -- which is why I enjoy his humor so much.

He's going to be himself...so who knows if that will be funny. I would prefer they just had the Colbert report take lettermans time slot.

Honestly, we don't know if he's funny out of character. He might suck.

And Fallon has established that his show works.

Might be a huge mistake for Colbert (who I adore). He might be another Leno.

Curious why this is even a concern for people on the east coast. Since I moved to the east coast, I haven't watched a single late night show since it's past my bedtime.

Um, grown ups watch late night TV.

Not all grown ups.

Right, because some of you go to bed at 9 after you've put your kids to bed at 7 and then read a couple chapters of a book. Yawn.

Colbert is super annoying in that 6th grade boy who wouldn't stop telling fart jokes sort of way

Or maybe Leno just isn't funny. Actually, his big ratings boost came when he had Hugh Grant on right after getting arrested with a really gross looking prostitute.
