highly regarded charter school not the best thing since sliced bread

I am Bahai/Jewish and my partners are Wiccan and LDS/independent and we are concerned that the immersion focus of your charter school could be unnecessarily Baptist. Could anyone explain further?

BUT MY KIDS are NATIVE speakers. Of course they should get preference in admissions for the good of the school!

PP, sorry but it is illegal in DC for your children to get preference in admission at Highly Regarded charter School.

+1

This is why I am considering drafting a charter for an A-C-A-I-P-I-J-C-F-C-ESL school. Let's start a multi-page thread about all of the great features such a school could have!

The law needs to be changed! Who do I complain to about this unfair law that keeps my native speaker kid from having a preference over all those others who don't know the language?

It is a federal law, so both houses of congress would have to pass and the Pres would have to sign. Good luck with that!

I got a call from HRSC today! We got a spot off the waiting list! We are thrilled.

But I heard HRSC will be moving down the block from its current location and I'm worried I'll have to drive 1/2 block further. I prioritize location and don't want that inconvenience.

You're probably a residency cheater driving in from Maryland!

I just got the call, too! Woo hoo! We are also thrilled, since the school is very convenient for us. We have absolutely no interest in immersion, but since it's so close we don't think we can go wrong.

We have a very high wait list number at HRCS. How far did they go into the wait list last year?

We need to start another immersion charter. HOW ABOUT ARABIC?

This brings up an important point. I see MD tags dropping off at HSCS ALL THE TIME. When will the school, OSSE, and the PCSB get serious about residency fraud?

I got a weird vibe, which I refuse to explain further. Also, the open house was after dinner, but did not provide any dessert.

I also didn't like Highly regarded Charter School. The principal sneezed during the presentation, she soured me on the school.

Also, I sense that the school doesn't like my race.

That's real. They don't like your race.
