If my take home pay is $6000 how much do I "make"?

Hmm, this is curious. I wonder if my DH is having too much income withheld. His annual salary is $98,000, he contributes 7% to his 401K and has no other deductions. He takes home about $5500 per month. Seems low compared to what other people are posting.
