Nope.

MCPS employees get a lot of leave. It shouldn't be any different for her than my kids teachers who are out a few weeks of the year on personal leave.

No teacher gets a few weeks of personal leave.

If they teach at Seven Locks Elementary they do. The teachers and staff there are always out on leave.

Not personal leave, though. Medical or professional, perhaps.

Same at our ES. My kids ES teachers for the past two years are out as much as 1 week per month. I have no idea why but it seems to be common these days.

Why would you need to know why?

I don't. The point was they're absent about 25% of the time and this isn't limited to one teacher.

Teachers get 3 personal days a year. They may be on long term sick leave or are taking a leave of absence.

I wonder why Johnson (acting chief of staff) was named the acting superintendent this time, but last time Hull (chief operating officer) was?

Or the acting deputy superintendent Lance Dempsey.

Hopefully this means the BOE has caught on to how terrible both of them are.

Dempsey's current title is special assistant to the Office of the Deputy Superintendent.

Dr. Johnson is pretty terrible.
Why did they bring him back?

I agree. I was not impressed with him during his substitution for Felder during the BOE meeting.

Could be FMLA, could be they are in IEP/504 meetings all day, could be their grest grandmother's 95th bday for all you know. So judgey

He seemed OK to me.

I don't really care where they are. My point just is that nobody is ever teaching the kids. Like another poster said, the teachers and staff are out a minimum of 25% and there are no subs so it's just a free for all most days.

This a valid concern and widespread throughout the system!
