Can you have too many trees?

We have a similar sized lot with 5 white oaks and about 8 beech trees. They were not planted, but left there when our neighborhood was created in the 70s. Our neighbors, by and large, have cut them down but ours remain. I love them. We have dozens of birds that live in our yard, tons of shade, and privacy. We are having to keep an eye on them with an arborist because the neighbors taking theirs down has weakened them. I hope they survive a long time, but if we have to take them down, we will replace with more trees with the advice of an arborist.
