Which colleges are considered top elite in the US?

Not decided yet but leaning engineering or CS.

So forget it as an int’l applicant. You need to go down a tier or two to have any real shot — still lots of great schools.

14) Cornell

16) Vanderbilt

Georgetown is an elite private university even though its endowment fund is not among the top 20 largest.

The University of Michigan, UCLA, U Virginia, UNC, & U Cal-Berkeley are also all considered to be excellent universities.

Among small colleges-referred to as LACs--liberal arts colleges--the most elite (also sporting the highest endowment funds among LACs) are Williams College, Amherst College, Pomona College, and Swarthmore College.
