Yes, and SAT is a merit. |
What people think about this? https://patch.com/virginia/mclean/mcleans-championship-quiz-bowl-team-honored-fairfax-county-board?utm_term=article-slot-1&utm_source=newsletter-daily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter&user_email=4953deb2850803b4b62cdaabf86559dfc62024ad0d53c1abc1241c9493b7412c&user_email_md5=5f66403bc57aeefe28d27d8c1bdd599c&lctg=64f72e156e3f546a09086048 |

You have posted this link before, and we have already given thoughts by trucks load. |
This is the correct response. It's NOT the ESSAY that is changing the admissions results. It's the PER SCHOOL QUOTA that is changing the demographics. |
YOU LOST. MOVE ON. |
What do you mean by SAT is a merit? It can be one possible way to measure one type of “merit”, but it is not the only way. Plus, there are many different types of “merit.” Doing well at TJ requires many different types of skills and talents, not all of which are measurable by a standardized test. |
I don't think it has much bearing on the overall effect of the TJ admissions changes on the school, but congratulations to McLean. |
With data analytics, ample proxies can surface that can be used as admission criteria for arriving at a predetermined racial quota. Ironically, racial proxies are not considered racial in the court of law, unless it is certain kind of minority races getting affected. |
Like getting free lunch? |
+1 |
Of course, we lost. This changed admissions process ensures top half of TJ is all Asian. And my non-Asian kid will likely be at the bottom entering as an Algebra 1 student, if we accept the offer. And, all you have to say is, move on, that too in all caps? |
Haha no. |
If he wants to go, he should go. If he doesn't want to go, he shouldn't. |
I see you couldn't even address the post you quoted and are supposedly responding to. Because it's undeniable. |
