Where to sit a four month old?

Aren’t stand up bouncers bad for babies’ legs?

Floor for the baby, gate for the dog.

But generally floor is best!

Mine never loved sit me up, we used the skip hop activity table for brief periods once tall enough for toes to touch bottom but my understanding is it's not great for them

This. both my kids sat in the Baby Bjorn bouncy chair until they could crawl (though they also spent lots of time on the floor). But this chair is awesome. I've passed it on to another friend who used it for that stage, and then passed it on to yet another child and it's still going strong. It's very, very easy to move from room to room, too.

I also find it weird to put baby on the kitchen floor. I use the bouncer, then a sit up chair thing when they’re too small to be in a high chair. That two month gap is awkward.

This.

I had a playpen growing up. When my kids came, we didn't have a dog, so I put a blanket on the floor with hanging toys and toys just out of reach to encourage mobility. Although 2 kids crawled early 4 mo, one on time 6mo, and one walked first then crawled at 13 mo. I thought it would help them get stronger. I don't know if it did, but that how it went for us.
