My four month old doesn't really like the swing anymore. We put her in it for twenty minutes or so a few times a day while we're eating or just need to put her down for a bit for whatever reason. She has really good head control and can roll and is tried to sit up unsuccessfully (the problem with the swing). I'm just not sure where to put her that's not the floor. We have a dog so a boppy on the floor is not ideal. |
You really should get a dog crate at some point and put the dog in there if you can't focus 100% attention on the child. |
We used a jumperoo activity center thing at that age, but mine could sit independently and had the core strength to hold herself up. |
Just put her on the floor without the hippy. Developmentally it’s probably the best thing. Prioritize your kid not the dog. Mine is almost six months and is almost exclusively on the floor and has no complaints. |
Sit me up chair! My kids loved those from about 4-6 months |
You only have a few months until shes sitting up and can sit at a good highchair for a baby.
I would use something simple like this on the floor or even on the table. https://www.amazon.com/Bright-Starts-Playful-Pinwheels-Bouncer/dp/B00KHR7TPK We also used the newborn seat for the Tripp Trapp st that age |
Let her be on a blanket/play mat the floor instead of strapped into a device. Put the dog outside or in a crate or in a gated area to keep dog and baby separate whenever you aren’t right there supervising. Developmentally, tummy time or being free to lie on their back is better for baby that being in a swing/bouncy seat/jumperoo or other contraption. But my babies loved the jumper oo once they were big enough for it around 4.5-5 months. |
I guess floor is best! She does get a ton of floor/tummy time, this is just for the twenty minutes or so when I’m going back and forth to the kitchen to get and eat breakfast. No idea why it feels weird to me to put her on the floor at these times. I know it doesn’t make sense but somehow it seems rude to me somehow. When we eat dinner she sits next to us in the stokke newborn seat pulled up to the table. I think I’ll just start putting her in that for breakfast and lunch. |
Good grief no she doesn’t. I had 2 dogs with a baby and didn’t crate them. I was always in same room if baby was on the bed or floor though. OP we started using an exersaucer at 4 months, also one of those doorway jumpers. Doorway jumper was on our bedroom door and I used to put DD in it while I took a shower. |
I loved the baby bjorn bouncer and used it until probably 7 months ( actually I bought 3 used for cheap and had them on each floor of the house).
But generally floor is best! Mine never loved sit me up, we used the skip hop activity table for brief periods once tall enough for toes to touch bottom but my understanding is it's not great for them |
A bouncy chair worked for mine. |
Disagree. Dogs are animals and children can be a bit handsy when they are young. You never know how they're going to respond, as much as you love them and feel like they're your sweet darlings. |
Floor. Keep child and dog separate using baby gates or a playpen. |
Pack n play |
. Yep this plus a stand up bouncer |
