it makes it even harder when I am still dealing with ppd. I got a score of 15 out of 20 at the ob office for depression test.

This will be WAY better in a week or two and she will be ok in the mean time.

Give it time.

my son had one teacher who also had a heavy perfume and we were able to laugh about it - he came home smelling like he’d been at bath and body works all day. It will not be so bad every day.

How are you able to "try" out a daycare? Are you in DC?

This is not the daycares fault. There is just an adjustment period. And just because she did well on a one day trial doesn’t mean that she won’t have an adjustment period where her eating is low in that place as well. Same with a nanny.

It’s so hard but many of us have gone through it. I’ve had friends quit work over it. It’s hard to tell what your baby’s norm will be when it comes to eating (some of mine never ate much in daycare instead doing most of their eating at home). But she’ll get there. I hope your depression improves.

I am really sorry you are going through PPD. I hope ,you are getting treatment. I know the baby seems very fragile but the most important thing right now is to take care of YOU. The baby will be ok in the daycare and will not even remember it. I have had PPA and I know how hard it can be to see these things clearly when you are in the middle of the situation. You mentioned this is a rainbow baby. You’ve been through a lot and that can take a toll mentally. You are doing great at taking care of your child and they are safe. Make sure you are getting the help and support you need.

Thank you for your kind words! Not only is she a rainbow baby, she was born premature and stayed in NICU for two weeks. There were some complications during pregnancy but that’s another story. Things do get better day by day.

She was tiny when she was born, 4lbs, and I gained like 8lbs in total. I’m 5’7, 96lbs pre pregnancy…….part of the reason why we are so concerned about her feeding right now.

OP, many babies refuse bottle however hard providers try, for weeks and even months, That is why daycare is not a good place for an infant, except if you find an experienced home daycare who can work with you individually. also, 2 days a week works against you here, whole week would mean faster adjustment. The best would be 2-3 half days, then day off, then a full day, at least while the baby is gradually adjusting. Infants can get dehydrated quickly and it can be dangerous, so do not panic but DO request to come every 3 hrs and feed her until she adjusts, and DO ask reporting every 2-3 hrs so you can decide if you need to come. Even with nannies, babies can take couple of days to start feeding properly. In daycare, everything is different to your baby - sights and sounds, unfamiliar faces, etc. This is why you do not assume daycare until you know your child better. And know, 4 oz a day is not OK, Minimum should be 10 at 3 months, just minimum to survive 8-9 hrs.
