Florida abortion issue about to blow up

Florida is going to be pretty competitive this year. A Democrat just won a special election by 26 points (campaigning on IVF) in a district won by Trump in a slim margin.

Trump put it on the ballot when he stacked SCOTUS. And Republicans have lived with the electoral consequences ever since (and will again this Fall).

At the end of the day, this won’t hurt Biden. It may help him (and who know how much) but it won’t hurt him. This is good.

Women will be voting for the right to control their own bodies.

As we have seen already already in red states, that drives voters to the polls.

Women’s bodies can be controlled by birth control too. Abortion is not the only way women can control their bodies. Men can use condoms or get vasectomies to control their bodies and prevent their bodies from getting women pregnant.

Both men and women can prevent pregnancy by using birth control. Their unborn babies bodies will be killed during the abortion; that’s who is killed during abortion. Voting on who can be killed because adult men and women don’t control their bodies is scary to me. I don’t think other humans should die because adults don’t take precautions.

Then don't have an abortion.

The GOP is curtailing it out of religious zealotry. That belies the separation of church and state.
The GOP is also on the path to curtailing birth control.

It won't end until women are totally subjugated again.

A fetus isn't a baby.

What is your solution for women who want a baby, are carrying a baby and then there is a complication and they need to abort the baby or die themselves?

Trump only won by 370K votes out of nearly 11 million cast in Florida. Abortion being on the ballot doesn't even get into DeSantis still being popular with a segment of that voting population. All it takes is a vote here and a vote there to chip away at the margin. I realize this is just anecdata, but we visited relatives in Florida over Spring Break. They're diehard Republicans, but one of them is voting Kennedy and the other one is just lukewarm on Trump (had hopes for DeSantis).

They never answer this question. Ever.

Cars kill 700 children a day. Those are actual children that were born and alive, not just a fetus. Does that scare you and freak you out?

+1. And many women in this situation already have children, so banning abortions deprives these kids of their mothers.

You are the scary one. This is female slavery.

This is further proof of the inhumanity and total disregard for human life that accompanies this issue. Slaves from America’s past were sold into slavery and forced to leave their homes on inhumane slave ships. If they died during the voyage (or were killed) they were unceremoniously dumped over the side of the ship and consumed by sea creatures. Once in America they were sold at public auction and could and would be sold at the will of their slave owning masters and separated from their own families as punishment.

Women can get birth control. Men can get birth control. Slavery is not the same as being alive and having the ability to become pregnant or contribute to a pregnancy.

Comparing this issue to slavery further proves we are dystopian and sliding down the path of inhumanity and oppression as we vote on who lives and who dies. After we pick up our starbucks, ofc.

Blah, blah, blah.
Disingenuous much?

A human fetus is a human being in a stage of life in which all humans look and function exactly the same, exactly the same as you and I did. A fetus isn’t a teenager either, because that’s a later stage of human development.

No idea what this word salad means.

Your argument is blah blah blah? Enjoy your vote. Maybe your sex trafficked housekeeper from Mexico can prepare you a delicious empanada after you return home from voting to kill other humans.

The vast majority will vote against abortion bans as they should. This is how we settle our disagreements. Your decisions around your own pregnancies will be respected and you have no place in this decision for others.

I also don’t want any more women to die because they don’t have access to this healthcare.

Pregnancy is not a disease or injury and abortion is not healthcare. Healthcare doesn’t result in the death of a healthy human being.

You should just admit you are ignorant, because many, many women need D and Cs to save their lives and their ability to birth a healthy child. How is that not healthcare?
