Wayne LaPierre resigns from the NRA ahead of his corruption trial

JPFO and SAF in particular are outstanding civil rights organizations.

The NRA has a long way back to redeem itself and catch up to them in terms of real world advocacy and court victories. They need to get busy.

I remember back in the late 80’s and through the 90’s my father saying the NRA stood for “Negotiating Rights Away” - which is mostly what they did. LaPierre was mostly responsible for that. Glad to see him leaving. Maybe more people will join now that he’s gone.

As a gun owner, I am extremely relieved to hear of Wayne’s resignation.

He was far too weak and ineffective at fighting gun control. His departure paves the way for a true champion of the Second Amendment to emerge; a real fighter who will effect major change.

Every word of this.

Wayne only cared about $5,000 suits and $2,000 ties. Alan Gura has done more for gun rights in 15 years than the NRA has done in its entire existence. I’m looking forward to a more effective NRA who will do a better job of gaining ground, rather than simply slowing losses.

Gosh, how’s he going to afford a new boat without fleecing NRA supporters?

NRA is a Russian money laundering outfit.

Can’t wait until February 1, which will be the first day without Wayne at the NRA.

Will be joining the NRA again, once he is gone. You should join too.

Ineffective? Given that there are more guns than people in this country and that there has been no meaningful gun control despite all the horrific school shootings, what kind of "major change" are you looking at? Even more guns? Zero gun control of any kind? Military-grade weapons for every citizen in the country? What more do you want that you don't already have? I don't get it.

You have it backwards.

The NRA isn’t driving the gun nuts. The gun nuts are driving the NRA. Most gun nuts think the NRA doesn’t go far enough.

I get that but what more do the gun nuts want? I mean, they've won. What does more winning look like?

Define “military grade.”

My prayer for him is that he gets all that he so richly deserves.
I think he already has? He spent $250,000 of y’all’s money just on suits.
