AAC President in the SAFESPORT Database

Anonymous
He was removed by SAFE SPORT. Coaches were unaware. I heard he lied on the safe sport application about a prior domestic incident.

Rarely are presidents even on deck

Not accurate. Maybe Mark Black wasn't (we left AAC when the. booster pres was Hugh Quinn. We were active volunteers, helped run AAC meets, banquets, etc but had enough of the Head Coach and the board).

Swim meets are run by parent/family volunteers. Any volunteers on deck can be booster board members, presidents, etc, or just any parents.

It's true that there is no official role for a Booster President during a PVS meet, even when their team is the the host, except if he or she happens to be a certified PVS official (Ref, Starter, Stroke and Turn, Computer -- they are all. volunteers). But the president could be on deck as often as they like as a volunteer. If not as an official, then as a timer, marshal, hospitality, etc.

SafeSport violations are emotional and physical abuse, not financial

Il thinking he may have taken funds or allowed swimmers who broke rules to compete.

I think he's top brass in the army.

We are AAC - the Booster Board are like the only parents allowed on deck. You can see them wandering around during practice and at least at our home meets.

That would mean that someone reported him. That does not seem likely as the incident. Something affirmative had to occur.

He has a kid in the top performance group and I am not sure if he is an official or not. The Boosters and now Arlington have come out and said they have no idea what is going on.

What were the issues that you had? I am kind of curious. AAC runs very differently than most clubs in the area.

Is his family affiliated with another pool or sport? Meaning is there a chance whatever the allegation is occurred elsewhere?

Like, did he threaten the little league umpire as opposed to something inappropriate related to a minor.

That’s not how SafeSport works
It’s a violation within the club and involves a minor

It was safesport swimming and would involve his club.

How do you know that? The club doesn't even know what happened.

I asked because more organizations are requiring SafeSport, including for example NVSL. The database has his name, not his affiliation IIRC. Other PPs are alluding to it being related to something outside his capacity as an AAC board member, which would tie with the fact that both AAC and Arlington Parks & Rec are saying they know nothing about it. Presumably the entity would have some knowledge if something was serious enough to have been reported to SafeSport.

So if he is affiliated with a summer swim team then it could be something that he did over summer. It is related to swimming, that much we know. It would be tied to the sport and under his it is safesport swimming.

Someone could have reported him for something (inappropriate locker room stuff, photos, etc to Safesport or the police regarding AAC and it would not be made known to AAC or Arlington either. The only way the club would know is if they made the report themselves which is not in their best interest)

It could be at Arlington Kiwanis.
