Arlington trials?

PPs on this and/or other threads have said Arlington has a reputation for not adding as many outside players, or even moving players from their second teams up to the first teams, as other clubs typically do. Assuming this statement was made with respect to the ECNL teams, is it also true for Arlington’s top pre-ECNL teams? I’m specifically interested in the 2013s / rising U12s and the prospects for players from other clubs to make the team at May’s tryouts. Is that a non-starter, or does a incoming player need to be as good as / bettter than the current team’s top players to make the team, or do they just need to beat out the current team’s bottom players?

It’s the opposite of what you said. They are more likely to take someone from outside over move someone up from the 2nd team. If two kids are pretty equal at the younger age groups they will always pick the kid from the outside over the kid from the second team. They already got that kids money and want to bring in the new money. I think most clubs are this way. In Ecnl age groups they typically only add players from outside if they are going to be a starter from what I’ve seen.

If your kid made it you would hear the first day but definately the second day. Time for you to move on

They've already sent out offers for ECNL teams a few weeks before spring break.

I wish that was the case!

Yea, not the case this year. Rosters have increased with non-starters being added.

How do you know non-starters are being added? You're assuming based on what that the kids being brought in are not starter quality? 1.) Think the coach decides that. 2.) These kids will change a great deal over the next six months. Some will grind, others will get complacent.

You could tell. Depend on the team though. The new kid will have to be better. Sometimes they want the bench to go deep so no drop in performance with sub

2012s will be U13 next season, so shift to 11v11 and roster size increases. Does Arlington typically also add players from outside the club for U12 season?

That's the golden question, not speaking about 2012's but another ecnl team. Fact is, everyone knows the kids on the bubble, and although you like the kid and parents, you hope that your roster gets better and add players that can start/be impact players. Most except for a few in the know, wont find out until a few weeks. Girls already know, who didnt get offers and so some parents. Those girls are now looking for a new home. Wishing them the best, but hoping for an improved roster. Plenty of teams and levels to play for that would be a better fit!
