I am an STA mom and I was speeding this morning and I think I may have almost ran a red light - but since I am not driving an expensive SUV and do not have school stickers on the car - I can get away with not being "judged" by you all.....

STA has standards for parents and, obviously, you do not keep these standards. Shame on you. Do you also allow your son to drink and take drugs and not adhere to the honor code? Oops, you don't undrstand "honor code," do you?

I live around the Cathederal and between the parent's dropping off at NCS, STA and Beauvior and the teen drivers flying around the campus, I am shocked there has not been a serious tragedy.

Ha! I was out last Sunday morning, very early, heading North on Wisc. Ave. A Gray Suburban with an STA sticker flew right past me. I remembered this post and almost laughed out loud, and then an odd thing happened - I started to accelerate! Not sure what possessed me, but I was going to catch that speeder and pass her. We hit well over 40 on Wisc. Ave., and as we passed Neimans I decided to slow the f down. She turned off on Western, blond tresses flowing in the wind. Until we meet again speeding STA mom . . .

PP, that's nothing. The other day I was on the way to pick up DD from NCS. I am approaching the light at Wisconsin and Woodley, about to turn left onto Woodley. Big, honking black Suburban (BHBS) with an STA sticker and multiple vacation stickers is in front of me. The light turns red. BHBS then runs the red light, turning left in the face of oncoming traffic. I wait at the light. A couple of minutes later, I see BHBS cutting through the lower school pickup traffic on 36th, wreaking havoc.

I could not agree more. I live near the Cathedral as well. It is a serious problem and not limited to STA, NCS and Beauvior parents and kids in their large SUVs. Please put down your cell phones, stop blowing through the stop signs and think before you kill someone.
