Worry about their top 'pre ecnl' teams. Bottom team players from other clubs are getting offers from Valor gold teams.

Which age group? U11 or U12? Boys or girls?

Also gold is second team starting next year so if the offer says gold team it is not pre ECNL.

Yup. Not pre-Ecnl/academy.

Sounds like an attempt to confuse their customers.

Wow the vitriol in this group is strong. ECNL made the naming change requirement, it was not Valor or any other clubs decision.

The vitriol I think its warranted due to the number of posts in this group. In any case Gold is not gold anymore. Its like a white team or number 2 team in the club.

Yes, but, why couldn't the top team be ENCL R, then the 2nd team be White, then black etc. There was no reason to use the same names but down a peg. It's confusing.

This is the same as every other year and not a surprise for anyone. Where else would the be playing? Look at the NCSL lowest divisions. Valor Black, Valor Silver, Valor Blue. Their second teams are usually in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th division.

Here you go. I would also add how are they performing within their division?

Middle, top or bottom of the spectrum as compared to other clubs teams in the same division?

Within the division is meaningless unless your team is crushing everyone or getting crushed by everyone.

whelp, they posted pictures on instagram of their girls tryouts including the 2011s but the turnout looks pretty low for three full teams. (The blue pinnies are the 2011s, orange pinnies are 2012s)

Agree. Good to speak to the club lead coach to get some relative transparency and ask about how the team actually performed during the year.

-If the team struggled the whole way through the season, they might not be in the right division.

Seems like an unecesary conversation when ncsl has the results for the year published on their website

I think there is some circular logic going on here. A few people are posting prolifically, then using the number of negative posts as evidence that Valor is terrible. Not saying there aren’t some issues, but not being able to determine the number of unique posters makes it hard to understand the magnitude. Someone keeps bringing up Valor on multiple threads, which suggests there’s a bit of an obsession.

How long have people waited to accept or decline their offers? We still have tryouts for other clubs this week and will likely hear back next monday or tuesday.

Did the email have a time frame/deadline?

If they didn't put a deadline in their message to you, then I think a week is reasonable.

Let the coach know the situation. They're used to this.

Disagree. If pp can stall without the coach knowing they are shopping around, they are better off.

Yes, ask for more time without spelling out the reason why (even though they will probably guess). In our experience at multiple clubs, including Valor, they will give you more time if they really want your kid.
