They cannot retain enough players for these second teams. Look at their line up. Plenty of younger teams bc they dont know better.
U11-12 is when the kids start to either find new clubs bc they realize the scam or they are over soccer.

Question: did CYA and SYA travel soccer have issues before they merged to become valor? Or was this a situation of two not so good clubs coming together to make a bigger not so good club? We have experience with CYA rec soccer and I don’t think they run it very well. It seems like the problem maybe starts there. But have no experience with SYA.

He is a great coach. One of the best from SYA, now Valor. I get there are some frustrations with the club (all deserved) but he is a great coach. The kids and parents will love him. The 2nd team coach is also very strong.

He is a great coach. One of the best from SYA, now Valor. I get there are some frustrations with the club (all deserved) but he is a great coach. The kids and parents will love him. The 2nd team coach is also very strong.

And yes, he has coached girls. He was on the girls side prior with SYA.

We started CYA soccer in the beginning and I remember at that time there is not enough player to make a team for one age group. So merge is expected.

If PP is talking about the 2013 birth year, that’s a strong age group. First and second teams are both good. I think there’s a drop off when you get to the third team.

the 2013 team age group is strong? The gold team doesn't even have a coach that shows up. Al is great but DS is a deadbeat coach. The gold team has had zero to no guidance at all.
is your kid on gold or white? i doubt they will have 3 teams this coming year as many of the players are bailing for teams with better coaches.

No clue where they are going. We had 4 girls not show up for tryouts at all and some of the girls mentioned to others that they are not returning. We are assuming 4-6 girls are on their way out.

Boy side is very strong, girls is very weak because of the mass exodus of girls teams a few years back

HA! 2013G is fine! 3 didnt show because 2 are moving out of the area and 1 has loudly been so unhappy that she committed to another team a while ago. Just take what you see on her with a grain of salt…many families are happy with Valor- 45+ girls showed up for 2013G tryouts and over 100+ boys showed up for 2013 boys tryouts…do whats best for your kid and dont use this lovely board to decide much.

Only having two teams for 2013g for next fall is a real small age group for valor

How do you know how many kids showed up for 2013 girls and 2013 boys?

No way. Pretty sure there are only 30 kids currently to rostered between the 2 teams. Where are these other kids coming from? CYA rec?
